NEW CSS LAYOUT AND ART BY ELANDRIA

NEWS!

In 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City and demanded better pay, shorter work hours, and the right to vote. A hundred years later, many women in the world still are struggling for basic human rights. In societies where rape victims are ostracized and even punished, the cost of speaking out can be devastating. Yet even so, there are women who are fighting to change this. They have found their voices, but they need someone to listen.

Women For Women is an organization helping these women to rebuild their lives and to build strong communities in war and post-war areas. It costs as little as $27 a month to support a woman and her kids. In a lot of war-torn areas, the women are widows or have no family to turn to. They alone must provide for themselves and their children.

Read Kizende's story to see how this program can change a life.

Even if you don't have the financial means to help, at least listen to what she has to say. She risked everything to say it.

Thanks for the link, this is National Women's Month, isn't it? I just say a great special on TLC about Susan B. Anthony.
Did you know when they arrested here for voting, she told the judge "Resistance to tyranny is obediance to God"?
Isn't that a great quote?

Thanks for this journal, I'm signing up tomorrow (payday :D) for my years commitment. I was wondering how to get involved after reading Honorata's story on CNN, so it's awesome you found out and shared how to.

Since you're into being socially aware, I wonder if you have heard about the gray wolf hunting which is currently in the process of being signed into law - [link] - If you agree with protesting it and want to reach your many watchers, feel free to just take the letter out of my journal and add this link to the end - [link] - :) If not, no worries. I really just wanted to thank you for the woman to woman info :)
